Biography

Prof. RPIR Prasanna joined the department of Social Sciences in 2009 as a permanent lecturer. Before joining the department he saved as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department Economics and Statistics, University of Peradeniya. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics with First Class being the best student in Economics in 2003 and he was awarded two academic prizes – University Prize for Academic Excellence and University Scholarship at the General Convocation held in 2003 at the University of Peradeniya. He did his postgraduate studies at the University of Peradeniya, Saga University, and Kagoshima University. His research interest includes in the field of agriculture economics, development economics, macroeconomic modeling, international trade, and finance. He has published more than 30 research papers in the international and local journals and submitted a number of consultancy reports to local and international organizations. Currently, he is saving as a head, Department of Economics.
