What is ICPC?
The International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), globally known as the Olympics of Programming
, is the world’s most prestigious team-based algorithmic programming competition. It brings together over 55,000 university students from 3,233 universities across 110 countries, challenging them to solve complex, real-world problems under time constraints. Learn more about ICPC.

Competition Structure & Key Dates
The competition will consist of two rounds. From the online round, the top 30 highest-scoring teams will qualify for the on-site round.
- Preliminary Round (Online)
- Date: Sunday, 14 December 2025
- Format: Online proctored contest
- Purpose: Selection of top ~30 teams for the onsite regional contest
- Onsite Regional Contest
- Date: Sunday, 4 January 2026
- Venue: University of Peradeniya
- Format: 5-hour algorithmic programming contest (3 students per team, 1 offline computer)
Registration Details
Each team should consist of:
- 3 eligible students (current undergraduates)
- 1 coach (faculty or staff member from the same university)
