Introduction

The Journal of Archaeology and Heritage Studies (JAHS) is the official journal of the Department of Archaeology and Heritage Management, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. JAHS is a free subscription open access (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) journal dedicated to interdisciplinary studies of archaeology and heritage management that uses a double-blind peer-review process. This journal covers a wide range of topics related to the study and preservation of archaeological sites, artifacts, and cultural heritage.

The journal publishes original research articles, review articles, book reviews, short communications, and case studies that explore various aspects of archaeology and heritage management, including excavation techniques, conservation methods, cultural resource management, and public outreach. It also examines the ethical and legal issues surrounding the study and protection of archaeological sites and artifacts. The journal takes a multidisciplinary approach to the study of archaeology and heritage management, drawing on insights from fields such as anthropology, history, geography, tourism, museology, and environmental science. By bringing together researchers and practitioners from different disciplines, the journal aims to foster a deeper understanding of the past and promote the sustainable management of cultural heritage resources.
