Important dates for Third Undergraduate Research Symposium 2023

• Calling for an abstract : 01 November  2025
• Deadline for receiving the abstracts: 30 December 2025
• Notification for acceptance: 05 January 2026
• Submission of final version: 10 January 2026
• Registration closing date: 13 January 2026
• Symposium date : 27 January 2026

Guidelines for Students

• All abstracts will be peer-reviewed and accepted or rejected by the editorial board under the recommendation of the reviewer’s comments.
•  The principal author is expected to present the paper at the research symposium.
• All research abstracts must be submitted with the academic supervisor.
• The template for submission can be downloaded from the website.

Format of the abstract:

• Authors are required to submit an abstract prepared according to the following guidelines.
• Results, Discussions & Conclusions : Maximum of 800 words
• The abstract should not exceed 1500 words
• Introduction: Maximum of 350 words
• Materials and Methods : Maximum of 350 words
• References : Maximum of 5 key references could be included (APA )
• The abstract must be written in clear English/Sinhala using accurate grammar and Times New Roman /FM Abaya, 12Pt.

Abstract submission:

The Abstract must be submitted through the online Form.

Oral presentation guidelines:

All the authors should present their research using MS PowerPoint. Details of the presentations are as follows:

• Duration of the presentation: 10 minutes
• Question time: 03 to 05 minutes
• The template for the presentation can be downloaded from the website.

Publication:

The selected abstracts will be published in the symposium proceedings. The symposium proceedings will be published in an online mode (E-copy) and it will be circulated among the presenters by using their registered email address.
